Sandra Fisher – South East London and
Kent - Based Celebrant.

I love to craft and tell stories...
I have been a teacher in Bexley and Greenwich for 37 years specialising in Special Educational Needs and Safeguarding. Two years ago, I worked with a friend (a vicar) to write a wedding blessing for myself and my husband. A mixture of religious and secular content, I really enjoyed the experience of composing that ceremony. After taking time off to help nurse my Father at home, in the last few weeks of his life, and then speaking at his funeral, I realised that both experiences, through happiness and sadness, had touched me deeply.  I began to appreciate that I could transfer everything I knew and loved as a teacher into a different vocation.
No story is the same and I believe no ceremony should be the same.
I believe that being a Celebrant encompasses all the emotion and empathy I have felt over so many years, alongside all the experiences I have had of working with families through difficulty and times of celebration. Understanding also that religion may or may not play a part in the lives of others at different times of their life.
Celebrancy is all about love...
I believe that being a Celebrant, allows me to continue to share my skills, knowledge, joy, understanding and empathy with others, in times of celebration and remembrance. The name ‘Dragonfly and Pearl’ has grown from things dear to me: ‘Dragonfly’ - from a special story I have used with grieving children and adults to help them understand why they cannot see their loved ones again and ‘Pearl’ - reminding me of tears of joy and happiness when celebrating love and life.

I will listen and work with you to create a personal and heart-felt ceremony, whether it is naming your child, marrying your loved one, or celebrating and remembering the life of someone dear to you.

Services I will provide:
Let me help and inspire you to choose the right ceremony.  Whether you are at the start of your life (a naming ceremony), at the start of a journey together with your loved one (a marriage or commitment ceremony), or at the end of a life (a funeral), I am here to find the words to express your love for, promises to and memories of your loved ones.
